Misplaced Beauty

Under the shadow of her figurine rests that which
They call beauty, Her facial adornments deceives
Everyone in sight including the wearer of the mask,

In the dark she spends countless hours looking
In the mirror disgusted by the image it reflects,
Mind battles body in everyone’s absence …
He who calls her beautiful wins her mistaken love.
